Plain weave is woven one up and one down, twill is two up and one down or three up and one down. The front and back of plain weave are the same, while the front and back of twill are different. The front side is slanted to the left or right, and the back side has no slant. If the yarn count and density are the same, the plain weave is dense and thick, while the twill structure is relatively soft. As for the use and pattern design, the warp yarn on the front side of twill is generally long and floating, with a good gloss and soft feel, and is mostly used in clothing and bedding. In comparison, softer ones are better for babies.
